Manjunath Shanmugam
1978–2005 · Exposing fuel adulteration, India
An IIM Lucknow graduate working as an Indian Oil sales officer who refused to let petrol pumps in Uttar Pradesh sell adulterated fuel — sealing pumps, gathering evidence, and raiding a mafia-run outlet days before his murder in November 2005. His killers were convicted. The Manjunath Shanmugam Trust now honours Indians who report corruption and work for its eradication.
